Welcome to Disability Support Services for Students w/Disabilities
Lake Washington Technical College provides full support services to all students with disabilities in compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.
Some services offered include, but aren't limited to:
interpreters for hearing, sight, and language impaired students
use of adaptive equipment/assistive technology
use of tape recorders
audio taped textbooks
closed captioning
volunteer note takers
extended time on examinations
low-stimuli testing environment
Services NOT provided by DSS:
tutoring/individual instruction (available to all students in the Academic Skills Center in T217 or students working with TRiO)
personal aides or attendants
modified classwork
learning disability testing
transportation services
If you require services, please contact the DSS office in West 207 at least one month prior to registering for placement tests, schedule an appointment and bring medical documentation.
