Faculty Biographies
Rex Jacobsen
Rex Jacobsen received his BA degree from Western Washington University with concentrations in Finance, Business Administration, and Information Technology. Rex’s private accounting work experience includes working with the Payroll and HR departments of Vivendi Universal, SeaMED Corporation, and Sierra On-Line. At Sierra On-Line, Rex designed and implemented an information system that merged confidential payroll information with human resource data and created numerous accounting reports to assist with completing IRS and other government reports. At Vivendi Universal, Rex helped merge the company’s accounting and HR information systems into a multi-million dollar PeopleSoft platform. Rex also has set up computerized systems for small-businesses, utilizing QuickBooks.
Neil Keenan
Neil Keenan received both his BS degree in Accounting and his MBA degree from California State University in San Jose. He accomplished further work toward a Masters degree in Tax from Golden Gate University in San Francisco. Neil's work experience covers both public and private accounting and includes businesses such as IBM and CPA firms. Much of his work is concentrated in the design of cost accounting systems , income tax preparation, general financial statements, and financial audits. In education, he worked for San Jose City College as an instructor in Accounting teaching income tax, Principles of Income Tax and several Principles of Accounting courses.
