An active student government at LWTC provides excellent leadership opportunities for students as well as a forum for student issues and student activities. Involvement in ASG offers you the chance to:
                • Learn and practice leadership skills
                • Be involved in the campus community
                • Contribute to the quality of life at the college
                • Earn college credit for leadership development

ASG Mission
To enhance the student experience by planning activities and providing representation to build a feeling of community.

ASG Campus Connectivity
ASG is involved in many aspects of campus community. Being an involved student is critical to building an educational and social student life.

Creating and Funding Student Activities
The student government consists of an executive board with a president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer and budget chair, and a senate comprised of one senator and one alternate from each instructional program. Students serve on various committees including the College Cabinet and faculty tenure committees. ASG also funds and charters student clubs.
                Members of the ASG plan student activities such as:
                • Social activities
                • Charitable events
                • Speakers and leadership workshops

Creating Student Clubs Opportunities
ASG works with students to charter clubs, explain club rules, and be supportive of club activities. ASG also funds student clubs to be active campus members. Club lockers are also available in East Building 214 for use by student clubs.

Collaborating with and Managing Student Senate
The student senate meets monthly to discuss student issues, or charter new student clubs. Work is on-going and all suggestions are welcome.

Managing Student Connectivity to Campus Committees
Annually, students are assigned to work with campus committees, for student representation. To volunteer for a committee assignment, please contact the ASG.

Manage the ASG Suggestion System
Throughout the campus community, there are suggestion boxes. Please take an opportunity to fill out a suggestion. It will be brought to the ASG meeting and discussed.
