Nolan Koreski

Nolan Koreski has been an instructor at LWTC for over 13 years and a tenured full-time faculty member since 1995. Nolan Koreski holds a current five-year Vocational Education Certificate, is an industry recognized Master Certified RV Technician, and holds many additional individual manufacturers’ certificates. Keeping current as an ASE Master Certified Technician and as a Specialist and Certified Instructor in Automotive Emissions (AES), Mr. Koreski is well prepared to provide his students with a level of training and instruction that would be hard to find anywhere else. Since 1975, and prior to 1990, Mr. Koreski worked in private industry as a Technician, a Lead Technician, Service Writer and Service Manager. He has been published in nationally distributed industry magazines and was featured in the September 1990 RV Business as one of the nation’s top RV technicians.

Don Sutherland

Donald Sutherland has been teaching since 1997, and owned an Auto Electric Shop from 1981 to 2006. The shop had a AAA Approved Auto Repair Shop rating from 1986 to 2002, and was an AC Delco affiliated shop since 1997. Mr. Sutherland has twice been a finalist in the AC Delco Technician of the Millennium competition. He is a state certified Automotive Emission Specialist & Automotive Emission Specialist Instructor. He is also an ASE Certified Master Auto Tech and holds an Advanced Engine Performance Specialist certificate.

Michael Richmond

Michael Richmond has been teaching since 2006 at LWTC. Mr. Richmond attended The Ford Motor Company’s Automotive training program ASSET at Renton Technical College from 1993 to 1995. He worked at Ford Dealerships for 13 years as a Technician, Lead Technician, Shop Foreman and Service writer. He’s an ASE Master Certified Technician and is currently certified by the Ford Motor Company in Automatic/Manual Transmissions and Transaxles, Basic and Advanced Electrical/Electronic Systems, Exhaust and Emission Systems, Gas and Diesel Engine Repair, Basic and Advanced Gas and Diesel Engine Performance, Brakes, ABS and Advanced ABS Systems, Basic and Advanced Climate Control, Steering/Electronic Steering, Basic Suspension and Air Suspension, Supplemental Restraint Systems, Automotive Measuring Tools, NVH Principles, Networks and Multiplexing, Service Bay Diagnostics, Warranty Claims Preparation and Technical Customer Handling.

Mr. Richmond has also served as a Volunteer Firefighter for Pierce County Fire Dept. #11 for the year of 2001.

Jerry Peterson

Jerry Peterson has been an automotive technician since 1972. He has worked as a technician in the independent and dealership market for more than 16 years. During this time he achieved Master Technician status from ASE as well as Master Technician status from General Motors, Oldsmobile Inc, Mazda Motor of America, and Jeep Grand Master Technician.

In 1989, Jerry began work as a technical instructor at Clover Park Technical College (the college he received his Auto Technician Certificate from in 1972), developing and teaching a two-year general automotive technician program for three local high schools.

In 1991, he began work as a technical instructor for Mazda Motor of America, Northwest Region. His experience at Mazda included working with dealership technicians and service engineers, and creating and presenting many automotive courses that enabled Mazda technicians to better serve their customers. He also worked as a Mazda Quality Assurance Technical Specialist, providing technical expertise and practical knowledge of automotive systems to technicians to help them diagnose and repair difficult vehicle problems.

Jerry started at LWTC in 2003 and is currently teaching the Auto Drivability courses. He completed his Associate of Applied Science Degree in Automotive Repair at LWTC in the spring of 2007.
