Faculty Biographies
Lionel Archdale
Educator, journeyman Maintenance Engineer, Lionel Archdale has continued the tradition of an outstanding Industrial and Building Plant Maintenance program in Washington state. He began his current teaching duties in the fall of 2000; in January 2001, he became the full-time instructor of the program.
Following his honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy in 1967, he began work in the Seattle area. He holds City of Seattle Steam Engineer-Grade 2 and Unlimited Refrigeration Operating Engineer licenses as well as an HVAC Universal Technician certification. He also has a Washington State Labor & Industries Electrical Trainee certificate. He earned his AA degree in Mechanical Engineering at Shoreline Community College and his Bachelor of Science Industrial Technology degree at Western Washington University in Bellingham.
Lionel served as a Business Representative for the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local #286 from 1981 until 1992. Most of his work at the trade was spent in the food industry at Darigold and Safeway. He has received many awards and certificates of appreciation during his career. He maintains an extensive network of contacts with people in the trade and employers throughout the Puget Sound region.
