BTAD Application
Information Sessions
These helpful sessions present an overview of the Bachelor of Technology In Applied Design program and explain the admission process. Sessions last one hour and include time for questions. No RSVP is needed & attendance at one is highly recommended for all applicants. An online option is available on the advising website www.lwtc.edu/advising/BTAD. Program Admission Requirements
Note: Admission procedures and requirements are subject to change. The following requirements must be complete by the application deadline in order for the applicant to be considered.
- Completion of requirements for an earned Applied Associate Degree or equivalent from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum of 70 quarter credits in an appropriate technical area of concentration (Engineering Graphics, Multimedia, or related field).
- Minimum cumulative GPA across all college coursework of 2.0.
- Design portfolio, submitted electronically in .pdf format
- One to two page essay describing the candidate’s interest in the degree, how completion of this degree meets their personal education and employment goals, and any information that may support admission to this program.
- Two letters of recommendation attesting to the student’s ability to succeed at the baccalaureate level.
Selection Criteria
Applicants will be selected by faculty review. In addition to the requirements listed above, the following components will be used in the selection process:
- Completion of 20 credits of college-level General Education with a minimum of a 2.0 GPA.*
- English Composition (ENGL&101 or equivalent) – 5 credits
- Quantitative Reasoning (any college-level math with Math 099 as a prerequisite) – 5 credits
- Social Science – 5 credits
- Humanities – 5 credits
- Cumulative Grade Point Average.
- Essay.
*Students who have not completed the required General Education Requirements may submit a written plan for completion of the requirements. Please list the classes that you will take, where you will take them and how you will complete them prior to the start of the program.
If the applicant is denied to the program and would like the application to be carried over to the next quarter, the student needs to contact Enrollment Services with this request.
