Faculty Biographies
Scott Acton
Scott is a graduate of the LWTC Engineering Graphics program, class of 1979. He worked as a designer for 10 years at Kenworth Truck Company and the Boeing Company. Scott has been an instructor at LWTC since 1989.
Scott is married and has 3 kids. He is very involved with his church and local high schools, and is on many college committees. In his spare time he enjoys skiing and golf.
Ken Brown
Ken has 31 years in the Engineering field including 24 years on CAD. He worked four years as dDesign drafter at Siemens, Inc. in Tigard, Oregon (Power Distribution industry), six years as senior design drafter and department supervisor at Tektronix, Inc. in Beaverton, Oregon (Test & Measurement/Display Devices) and is currently in his nineteenth year as a full-time, tenured instructor in LWTC’s award-winning Engineering Graphics program.
Ken also owns LineWorx, a computer aided design, drafting and corporate training business. He is a certified SolidWorks Professional and is certified by the American Design Drafting Association.
Ken has been married 27 years and has two sons, Andrew and Jordan. Ken is active in his local church and enjoys bicycle riding, reading science fiction and comic books, playing basketball and playing acoustic guitar.
Bob Mandy
Bob is a registered architect with over twenty years of experience in architecture and construction. He began teaching architecture at Lake Washington Technical College in March, 1997. Bob earned both his bachelor and master of architecture degrees from the University at Buffalo, Buffalo, NY. Bob has a very diverse career background with experience in residential, commercial, graphics design and historic preservation. He also served two years as a consultant for the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. Additionally, Bob is currently a practicing architect and operates an architectural practice.
Bob is active member of the American Institute of Architects, National Trust for Historic Preservation, American Design Drafting Association, and Construction Specifications Institute. He resides in Mill Creek with his wife Di-Ann and their daughter, Siena Rose.
