Don Marshall

Don Marshall

Educator, landscape designer, and nurseryman, Don Marshall has established one of the outstanding horticulture programs in Washington state. He implemented the Environmental Horticulture program at Lake Washington Technical College over twenty years ago and has guided the program to expand and grow to meet the changing needs of the community and the industry. His graduates have found employment in all areas ranging from wholesale and retail nurseries, design and maintenance firms, arboriculture, education and even public relations for the Northwest Flower and Garden Show.

Mr. Marshall received Lifetime Honorary Membership in the Washington State Nursery & Landscaping Association (WSNLA) in 1998. In 2004 he received the outstanding "involvement" award. He is the only educator to receive the WSNLA Educator of the Year twice – once in 1992 and again in 1995. He received the Lake Washington Technical College Instructor of Excellence Award in 1991 and 1997. He was also the recipient of the Washington Association of Landscape Professionals Grand Award in 1996 for Residential Interiorscape Design and Installation. In 2002, he co-authored Home Landscaping, Northwest Region published by Creative Homeowner, now in its second printing. In 2006 he won the Puget Sound Energy Instructor of Excellence award

In addition to teaching full time, Mr. Marshall, a Certified Arborist, owns and operates a landscape design, installation, and maintenance firm and teaches seminars throughout the Puget Sound region.
