Marti Garrels, MSA, MT(ASCP), CMA

Marti graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, and interned at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn, Michigan. She became a registered medical technologist and a certified medical assistant. In 1994 she graduated from Notre Dame University with a Master’s Degree in Administration.

She has been an educator and program chair for Medical Assisting programs for over 30 years. She is very active in the AAMA (American Association of Medical Assistants) as a national speaker, a member of the AAMA Educator Task Force, and a surveyor for CAAHEP. She recently co-authored a text, workbook, and instructor's manual entitled: Laboratory Testing in Ambulatory Care Settings. 2006. Elsevier Publisher.
