Admissions Requirements
Registered Nursing (RN) Program
This program requires completion of special application for admission (PDF file) and program prerequisites.
There is a formal, competitive admissions process for entry into this program. Many more students than can be accepted into the program will apply for admission. The college will use prerequisite classes, references, a formal essay, and an entrance exam (the HOBET) to determine the best candidates for the program.
The prerequisite science courses must be at least seven years current upon program entry, be measured by a proficiency examination, or be waived by special petition to the dean for allied health. ALL prerequisites must be complete by the time of application in order to apply. In progress classes will not be accepted.
Applications are accepted three times each year: in March for the following Fall quarter, in October for the following Winter quarter, and in January for the following Spring quarter. All submissions should be sent to LWTC Enrollment Services.
Completed applications will be forwarded to an evaluation group in the nursing program. The top applicants may be invited in for an interview. Final selection letters to all who submitted complete applications will be mailed as soon as possible after decisions are made. Please do not contact the college to ask for status reports about this process; all applicants will be notified by letter.
Please note the Nursing program is NOT standard tuition. Students are charged at a higher rate than other classes. Please see the college tuition page for more information.
